Hoosier Lotto is one of the longest running and most popular lottery games in the US state of Indiana.

Entry to Hoosier Lotto costs $2.00, with draws taking place twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 23:00 local time. The cutoff for ticket sales on draw days is 22:39 local time.

To enter Hoosier Lotto, choose six numbers between 1 and 46, or go for a Quick Pick to play with randomly selected numbers.

All Hoosier Lotto tickets are printed with a multiplier to specify how many times non-jackpot prizes are multiplied if won. Prizes can be multiplied up to 10 times!

Also, the +PLUS game is available for an extra $1.00, with players entering the same numbers for the $1 million jackpot and the +PLUS draw.

Jackpot

Hoosier Lotto offers a minimum guaranteed jackpot of $1 million and has no jackpot or rollover cap.

The jackpot starts to grow if not won after three draws, increasing by a minimum of $100,000 per draw until there is a winner.

The biggest ever Hoosier Lotto jackpot was $54.5 million in November 2007.

The odds of winning the Hoosier Lotto jackpot are 1 in 9,366,819, which are better odds than many other “match six” lotteries around the world.

The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 6, with prizes available at five different tiers.

Payout and Taxes

Players have up to 180 days to claim Hoosier Lotto winnings.

Jackpot winners can receive prizes as a lump sum or as 35 annual payments.

Lottery prizes are taxed at source in Indiana, even for players living abroad. Prizes over $1,200 are subject to 3.5% state tax, with prizes over $5,000 subject to 25% federal tax. Federal tax of 30% is levied against prizes won by non-US residents.
