Lotto 1

Lotto is Sweden’s national lottery game.

Draws are held twice weekly on Wednesdays at 18:20 and Saturdays at 20:00 local time, with two draws taking place at a time for a total of four chances to win! These draws are known as Lotto 1 and Lotto 2.

Entry costs SEK 3.00 to enter Lotto 1 only, or SEK 6.00 to play both games.

To play, choose seven numbers between 1 and 35, or go for a Quick Pick for a set of randomly generated numbers.

System Entry allows players to choose up to 12 numbers to increase the chances of winning.

Players can add Joker to their ticket for SEK 10.00. This unlocks the Super Jackpot known locally as the Drömvinsten or Dream Win, which also enters players into Second Chance draws that take place throughout the year. Players can buy up to three Joker/Second Chance entries at a time, with all Second Chance entries accumulating since the previous draw and automatically being entered into the next one, giving players an even better chance to win extra cash prizes.

Up to 10 weeks Advance Play is also available, or subscribe to Lotto to never miss a draw.

Jackpot

Lotto has a minimum guaranteed jackpot of SEK 1 million.

This lottery has no rollover or jackpot cap, with the top prize often growing significantly higher. Players who add the Joker to their ticket can win the Super Jackpot worth at least SEK 75 million.

The biggest ever Lotto jackpots are:

  • SEK 237.7 million on April 23, 2013.
  • SEK 215 million on March 27, 2010.
  • SEK 144 million on June 15, 2005.

Odds and Prizes

The odds of winning the Lotto Super Jackpot are 1 in 337,915,578, while the chances of winning the regular jackpot are much lower at 1 in 6,724,520.

Players looking to win larger amounts may prefer US Powerball or Mega Millions due to their bigger jackpots.

Lotto has six different prize tiers.

Lottery prizes in Sweden are paid out as lump sums only, which are not subject to tax.

Overseas players should remember to check local tax laws to verify whether prizes must be declared at home.

Players must be at least 18 years of age to play Lotto.

Lotto tickets are available from authorized lottery retailers across Sweden, via the official website or on the official mobile app.

Overseas players can participate in Lotto via selected Lottery Agent websites.
