BonoLoto

Bonoloto is one of several popular lottery games played in Spain.

Bonoloto draws are held six days a week on Mondays to Saturdays at 21:30 local time.

Entries cost €0.50 per line, but costs at least €1.00 to enter due to the minimum entry threshold of two lines.

To play Bonoloto, choose six numbers between 1 and 49, or go for a Quick Pick for randomly generated numbers.

Each ticket is printed with a Reintegro number corresponding to the last digit of the ticket’s serial number. If the drawn number between 0 and 9 matches the Reintegro number, players get a ticket refund.

Bonoloto does not have any secondary games or additional ways of winning cash prizes beyond the main draw.

Jackpot

Bonoloto has a minimum guaranteed jackpot of €400,000 and has no jackpot or rollover cap.

Bonoloto rollover jackpots can still reach significant sums of money despite being drawn six days a week.

The biggest ever Bonoloto jackpots are:

  • €7.2 million on November 11, 1990.
  • €7 million on June 20, 2006.
  • €6.5 million on December 14, 2005.

Odds and Prizes

The odds of winning the Bonoloto jackpot are 1 in 13,983,816, which are common odds given the popularity of 6/49 lottery games around the world, but with the jackpot being lower in comparison to lotteries that are drawn less frequently.

Players can win cash prizes at six different tiers, with the Reintegro refund at the sixth tier being fixed to the ticket price.

Payout and Taxes

Prize winners have three months from the date of the draw to make a claim, with all prizes being paid out as lump sums only.

All prizes exceeding €40,000 are subject to 20% tax at source, but overseas players should still check local tax laws to find out if they need to pay further taxes at home.

Who Can Play Bonoloto?

Players must be at least 18 years of age to play Bonoloto.

Bonoloto tickets are available from authorized lottery outlets across Spain, vía the official Loterías y Apuestas del Estado website or through the official app.

Players from abroad can play Bonoloto online at selected Lottery Agent websites.

History of Bonoloto

The first Bonoloto draw took place on February 28, 1988. Draws were originally held four times per week, before changing to six times a week on March 23, 2015.

The Reintegro number was added in 1991 to give players an added incentive, albeit with no possibility of winning a cash prize.
