Skandináv Lottó Gepi

Skandinav Lotto is one of many popular lottery games played in Hungary.

Draws take place once a week on Wednesdays at 20:30 local time at lottery operator headquarters in Budapest and are broadcast live on national television. Ticket sales close at 18:00 local time on Wednesday and resume shortly after the draw.

Tickets cost HUF 300.

To play, choose seven numbers from 1 to 35, or go for a Quick Pick for numbers generated at random.

In Combination Entry, players select additional numbers that are entered into the Skandinav Lotto draw in various combinations, or go for a selection of fixed numbers for inclusion on every line. Although this increases the possibility of winning a prize, the cost of entry is more expensive.

Up to five draws can be entered at a time using Advance Play.

Players can also participate in the national weekly Joker game at no additional cost, which is drawn every Saturday evening. Players get a random six-digit number for a chance to win the jackpot by matching all six digits in the order drawn. The jackpot for the Joker game can often exceed the Skandinav Lotto jackpot, sometimes surpassing HUF 100 million!

Jackpot

Skandinav Lotto has a minimum jackpot of HUF 50 million. 

Skandinav Lotto is a rollover lottery, with neither the jackpot or the number of rollovers being capped.

Odds and Prizes

The odds of winning the Skandinav Lotto jackpot are 1 in 3,362,260, which are great odds for a lottery jackpot, but with a relatively modest top prize.

Players can win prizes at four different tiers, with overall odds of 1 in 27 of winning something.

Payout and Taxes

Players have up to 90 days to claim Skandinav Lotto prizes.

All winnings are paid out as tax-free lump sums.

Who Can Play Skandinav Lotto?

Players must be at least 18 years of age to play Skandinav Lotto.

Entry is available online via the official Szerencsejatek website or mobile app or from one of Hungary’s 7,700 authorized lottery outlets.

Tickets are not currently available to players from overseas.

Run by the Hungarian state lottery operator Szerencsejatek, the first Skandinav Lotto draw was held on October 4th 1999.
