Loto

Loto is France’s national lottery game, with tickets costing €2.20.

Loto draws take place three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 20:35 local time.

To enter Loto, choose five numbers between 1 and 49, plus an additional number called the Chance Number between 1 and 10. Players can select the Flash option to play with randomly generated numbers, with all Loto tickets automatically entered into a raffle that produces 10 €20,000 winners during each draw.

For an extra €0.80, the “2nd Edition” option can be activated. This enters the five main numbers into a second draw with a jackpot of €100,000.

Also, two Joker+ games take place after each draw, costing an extra €1.00 or €2.00 to enter. The €500,000 jackpot is won by matching seven randomly generated numbers in the order they are drawn, with smaller prizes paid out for matching shorter sequences.

Jackpot

Loto has a minimum guaranteed jackpot of €2 million.

Loto has no jackpot cap but does have a rollover cap of 34 draws. Each time the jackpot rolls over, it increases by €1 million, with the maximum possible jackpot potentially reaching €36 million. The jackpot has never grown this large but would roll down to the next prize tier if it did.

The biggest ever Loto wins are:

  • €24 million on June 6, 2011.
  • €23 million on May 19, 2014.
  • €23 million on July 13, 2013.

Odds and Prizes

The odds of winning the Loto jackpot are 1 in 19,068,840.

Players can win at nine prize tiers, plus the chance to win a €20,000 raffle prize.
