Payout and Taxes

Taxation of EuroJackpot lottery winnings varies from country to country, with 11 of these countries not levying any tax at all; however, players who participate in EuroJackpot online may need to pay taxes in their home country.

Jackpot winners can choose to have prizes paid out as a lump sum or as annual payments.

Who Can Play EuroJackpot

EuroJackpot tickets are available from authorized lottery retailers, as well as online in participating countries.

Players who live outside the 18 EuroJackpot participating countries can also play online via Lottery Agent websites.

History of EuroJackpot

The idea behind EuroJackpot first materialized in 2006, although the first draw did not take place until March 23, 2012, when just six countries took part.

Before October 2014, Euro Numbers were chosen from just 8 numbers rather than the 10 of today. This change had a significant impact on the odds of winning, making rollovers and higher jackpots much more frequent.
